Mayor John Street!!!!!

ok so mayor john street came to temple university yesterday to talk to the teens in the itsrg program. He first started off with a game of luck. we had to write our names on a piece of paper and put it in a hat. what he did was draw a name from the hat and that person got a prize. The prizes were either money or an item that he owned. later on after each game he gave us an explanation behind the game and words of advice and encouragement.

i assume the reasons behind this was to teach us lessons. the first game was about luck and he explained that we cannot depend on luck to live in the real world. The next game was a contest to see who could hold their breath the longest. in this game he explained that not everyone was meant to win their would only be one winner in any contest. the moral of that was not everyone can have the same job and opportunities. the last game was who could who could not laugh for five minutes with a straight face. the moral of this one was to keep focus on one thing and do not get distracted.

by his visit and the way Mr.street taught what he did inspired me more to strive for the best and reach my goals. on of his quotes was" Every man or woman will not stop to throw stones at every barking dog". that is the one thing i actually will remember along with his humility. He's a funny guy!
